February comes, we immediately think about “Month of Hearts” but no it’s not only the occasion that we have to celebrate. “Kannawidan” this is very important, exciting occasion especially here in Ilocos Sur.

Kannawidan one of the biggest celebration here in Ilocos Sur, where in all the products, cultures, traditions were shown up. Kannawidan has lived up to its mission and vision, that of preserving and perpetuating the rich Iloco cultural, artistic, historical and intellectual heritage. We are very happy that Kannawidan gatherings have always been a venue for Ilocanos, relations and friends, sharing and exchanging thoughts, views and insights on how to preserve and perpetuate are beautiful customs and traditions. Aside from the OTOP, towns also featured their "pinaka" or "most outstanding" product, which translates to the biggest and sweetest, smallest and most unique products among others. Fashion Show to display beautiful and elegant wardrobes weaved by the use of "abel"; the Saniata ti Ylocos to let people see that Ilocanas are beautiful, smart, talented and gorgeous women. Kannawidan is really big help, especially to us; children’s, teenagers and even adult people. We are given the chance to witness, watch, and learn and to know what are their different cultures in entire Ilocos Sur. Through this Kannawidan we can save money, time and effort to buy their products, we just visit the venue of Kannawidan, and there you can buy all you want and taste different delicacies here in Ilocos.

Kannawidan shows about tradition. And each town should have a presentations that shows their best so that tourist may attract more and their impression about Ilocos is good. And we should be proud to be an Ilocano because Kannawidan shows the harmonious relationship among Ilocanos ! J
